Facts about Mexico

Mexico has the second largest economy in Latin America after Brazil, and it has weathered the recent recession well. Still, fully half of the country’s 116 million citizens have been left behind as the economy has grown. Today, 51 percent of Mexicans live in poverty, while among children, the number rises to nearly 54 percent.

FINCA Mexico was established as a not-for-profit organization in 1989. FINCA Mexico offers Village Banking, individual and local currency loans, as well as insurance products linked to loans. These services are helping more than 140,000 low-income Mexicans build their small enterprises and feed their families.
