FINCA International works with public-sector partners to advance our mission worldwide. By partnering with these organizations, including government-funded bilateral and multi-lateral development assistance organizations, FINCA has accessed millions of dollars in grants to advance its operational and strategic goals over the last two decades. Public-sector partners help advance FINCA’s work at all levels: from our grassroots operations in 21 countries in Africa, Latin America, Eurasia and the Greater Middle East, to strategic support for regional hub offices, to support for projects led by FINCA International headquarters in Washington, DC. They have helped FINCA expand into new regions and new countries; develop new products (both financial and non-financial); improve service delivery mechanisms through technological innovations; design and develop new non-financial complementary services for clients, such as HIV/AIDS education; and they have helped our affiliates transform from non-governmental institutions into formally regulated financial institutions. FINCA’s principal public-sector partners include:
· United States Agency for International Development (USAID) · United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns visited FINCA Guatemala on September 6, 2007 and discussed USDA's Food for Progress partnership with FINCA. · Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA) · Department for International Development (DFID) · European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) · Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) FINCA thanks all of its public-sector partners for their deep and continued support of our operations and mission worldwide, enabling us to serve over 700,000 clients in 21 countries.
